PITCHER: Mitchell Jordan – Orleans

After the Fourth of July, the rest of the summer invariably seems to fly by. Before Cape Cod Baseball League players turn around, it will be time to prepare for the All-Star game on July 25. The leading pitcher in ERA and strikeouts is power arm Mitchell Jordan (Stetson), who has been named Coca-Cola Pitcher of the Week for the second time this summer.

Jordan paved the way for the Firebirds’ victory against Harwich last Monday, when he struck out eight Mariners and allowed no earned runs in six innings of work. On Sunday, he struck out six and kept the Wareham Gatemen off the board. He currently leads the league with 31 strikeouts and a minuscule 0.0 ERA.

A native of Longwood, Fla., Jordan enjoyed a strong high school career at Lake Brantley High and was a two-letter winner, leading his team to 27-3 record and 8A state title during his senior campaign. In his freshman season at Stetson, Jordan appeared on the mound 22 times, finishing third on the team with 50 strikeouts in 2014.

PLAYER: Jacob Robson – CF – Bourne

The Bourne Braves' Jacob Robson (Mississippi State) turned heads with his power hitting to earn Coca-Cola Player of the Week honors.

Robson was a major asset in the Braves' victory over Falmouth on Sunday. The slugger collected three hits, including singles in the third and fifth innings and a double in the eighth. Robson has 15 hits on the season and is sporting an impressive .366 batting average.

The Ontario native just completed his junior year at Mississippi State. After a redshirt sophomore season, Robson led his team with a .324 batting average during the 2015 season and racked up 41 runs on 60 hits.
