Continuing its tradition as the premier pipeline to the pros for college players, the Cape Cod Baseball League has 12 alumni in the MLB All-Star Starters’ Election. Voting begins at noon ET on Wednesday June 26 and will run until 4 p.m. ET the next day.

There are seven Cape League alumni on the American League ballot and five in the National League. The Cubs’ Kyle Schwarber is the most recent Cape League alum, appearing for Wareham in 2013, while Charlie Blackmon of the Rockies played for the Cotuit Kettleers back in the summer of 2005.

Six Cape League teams are represented on the ballot, with Cotuit and Harwich leading the way with three players each and Wareham and Brewster each contributing two.

Last season, 11 former Cape Leaguers were selected to All-Star rosters. To vote for the Cape League Stars, go to https://www.mlb.com/all-star/ballot
