WEST DIVISION
COTUIT 5, FALMOUTH 0
The Kettleers moved to within a win of the championship series on the back of a tremendous pitching performance. Starter Trey Holland went six innings, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks while fanning 5. From there, reliever Bo Hofstra held the Commodores at bay, allowing just 2 hits in his three innings of work. The Kettleers’ big offensive inning came in the second, when they scored three runs on a single, a sacrifice fly, and a wild pitch. The series will shift to Cotuit for game 2 on Tuesday, with first pitch scheduled for 4 pm.
EAST DIVISION
HARWICH 5, Y-D 1
Despite being outhit 11-5, the Mariners used timely hitting and 5 Y-D errors to scratch across their five runs. On the mound, Harwich was carried by the bullpen, as Carson Seymour and Will Heflin combined for seven scoreless innings of relief, scattering eight hits and two walks to continue a sterling postseason for the Mariners’ pitching staff. Y-D will look to keep their season alive at Whitehouse Field in Harwich on Tuesday, with the game scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm.
