CAPE COD, Mass. -- After 220 regular season games, four teams remain alive to vie for the 2003 Cape Cod Baseball League Championship.

The Orleans Cardinals and Brewster Whitecaps finished in a deadlock atop the Eastern Division with 51 points, but Orleans captured head-to-head competition to emerge as top seed and will host the Whitecaps Thursday at 7 p.m. at Eldredge Field.

In the "Wild, Wild West", the Bourne Braves topped the Hyannis Mets by one point (47-46) to capture the divisional title and top seed of the divisional playoffs. Bourne hosts the Mets Thursday in a 3 p.m. start at Coady Field.

The divisional playoffs resume Friday as Brewster hosts Orleans at Cape Tech and Hyannis entertains Bourne at MeKeon Park. The third games, if necessary, will be played at the top seeds on Saturday in Orleans at 7 and Bourne at 3 p.m.

The divisional winners meet in the league championship series beginning Saturday (if both teams sweep) or Sunday.

College Sports Television (CSTV, channel 610 on DirecTV) will televise the championship series beginning Sunday. WCIB, Cool 102 (101.9 FM) will broadcast Game 2 and Game 3 (if necessary) of the League Championship. All games will also be broadcast live through Free Teamline (www.capecodbaseball.org).
