Welcome to Opening Day at the Cape Cod Baseball League, showcasing and premiering the finest college student-athletes in America! Our field managers and general managers have been working diligently and tirelessly for the past ten months to reach this very day. Once again this year college post season play has proved to be a challenge for our rosters as we had 168 players in the Regionals, 62 players in the NCAA Super Regionals and  39 players currently competing in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska! But our endless number of contacts nationwide has proven to be a tremendous asset as our ten teams have planned and acted accordingly to address this temporary challenge with talent-rich rosters.

As we start play today, we welcome Darin Weeks as the new GM at Bourne replacing Mike Carrier who is the Deputy Commissioner for the CCBL Western Division. The Wareham Gatemen have welcomed Don Sneddon as their new Field Manager this year. Don has many successful decades of experience in college baseball and was a member of the Wareham Gatemen coaching staff last year. We welcome Don's expertise to the Cape Cod League.

We recently had all ten CCBL fields professionally upgraded including all infield areas, batting areas and bullpen areas. All ten fields received the same upgraded care providing consistency and professionalism. The fields look absolutely spectacular and we are very excited to play on them. This was a major off-season project for the CCBL which totaled over $100,000 so our commitment to excellence is once again in the forefront. Special thanks to Harwich GM Ben Layton who spearheaded the logistics of this project which clearly is hugely successful.

This year's All Star Game is hosted by the Wareham Gatemen on Saturday, July 22nd at 6PM. This is always an exceptional event with thousands of fans in attendance. Gates open at 2PM and please be sure to get to Spillane Field early for your choice of seats and enjoyable pre-game activities.

Thank you so much for the incredible support of our fans and volunteers. We could not be more grateful for everything you all do. Enjoy your summer and embrace the Norman Rockwell-like atmosphere at our ten ballparks. It really doesn't get any better than this!

We are glad you are here!!
