Falmouth (11-11-1): 6 at Yarmouth-Dennis (13-7-4): 3

 

A three-run first inning from the Commodores helped the winning effort on Monday night at Red Wilson Field. Matt Wallner blasted a two-run shot after a run scored on an error earlier in the inning. Y-D committed five errors on the night with three unearned runs that came across to score. Y-D was able to cross a single run in the fourth, eighth, and ninth.

Cotuit (11-11-1): 3 at Bourne (13-10-1): 9

 

Cotuit scored three in the top of the third thanks to a couple of doubles from Jonathan Robertson and Thomas Dillard and a sacrifice fly to take the 3-1 lead over the Braves. However, Bourne threw up a few zeroes and allowed themselves to make a three-run fifth inning using a two run double from Chase Murray and an RBI single from Jared Triolo. They were able to continue to keep the Kettleers off the board and drive in another five runs to seal it.

Harwich jumped on the Hawks early with two runs in the first with a two-RBI single from Tanner Morris. They tacked on another run in the third, but not before Hyannis rallied for three. The teams were deadlocked at 3-3 until the seventh inning when Hyannis’ Davis Wendzel stepped to the plate and hit a solo shot to take the lead. Harwich could not cross another, and ended up taking the loss at home.

Wareham took a 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a Ryan Kreidler home run. Wareham crossed three runs in the seventh inning to make the game 4-0. The Gatemen’s pitching was on point on Monday night, allowing just one run in the contest in the eighth inning on an RBI double from Ray Alejo to make it 4-1.

After being down 3-0 after three, Chatham put together two runs in the fourth. Orleans responded with two of their own in the sixth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth on a JJ Bleday two-run shot to make it 8-2. Chatham’s John Rave hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth, ending the scoring for Chatham, and dropping the game to the Firebirds.
