Both teams had two two-run innings along with a third inning that included a run for each team, but the deciding factor was the first inning. The Hawks got on the board early with a Todd Lott single that brought in Braden Comeaux who reached on a walk. After a sacrifice fly from Wareham’s Oliver Dunn tied the game up in the third, Seth Gray gave Hyannis the one run lead on an RBI single. Hyannis went on to put up two in the fourth and fifth, highlighted by an RBI double from Davis Wendzel. The Gatemen put up two in the fifth and sixth to bring the deficit to one run, but could not capitalize, losing the game 6-5.

Warham lost their second leg of their double header on Wednesday, going 0-2 on the day. After being up 3-0 on Brewster going into Brewster’s half of the sixth inning, the Whitecaps closed the gap scoring two runs. A Conor Grammes RBI single and a fielder’s choice brought Brewster within one going into the seventh. Wareham was not able to put a stop to the Whitecap’s offense, allowing three more runs to surrender the lead. Wareham was shutdown offensively after the sixth inning, and ended up dropping the game 5-3.

Bourne’s three-run first inning gave them the edge in this contest, proving to be the difference in their 6-3 victory. Ashton Bardzell’s single was the only hit in the inning and drove in one of the three runs. In the third inning, Lyle Lin’s sacrifice fly gave the Braves a 4-0 lead. Y-D was able to respond with two in the fourth on a couple of RBI doubles from Bradlee Beesley and Zach Zubia to make it 4-2. However, Bourne wiped that two off the board with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning from a two RBI single off the bat of Jared Triolo. Y-D could only cross one more in the game in the fifth to make it 6-3 on a Quin Cotton RBI single.

Hyannis posted two wins on the day with an impressive 12-5 victory over the Anglers. It was an incredible eight-run second inning for the Hawks that gave them the edge over the Anglers. Hyannis collected five hits in the inning including two RBI singles and an RBI double. Chatham got four of those runs back in the fifth inning including a double from Spencer Torkelson that scored two runs to make it 8-4. After a run from the Hawks in the bottom of the fifth and a run for Chatham in the top of the seventh, Hyannis scored three more in the eighth featuring a two-run RBI single from Eric Rivera to put the game out of reach.

Things ended up even after twelve innings in Harwich on Wednesday. Scoring was started in the third inning when Thomas Dillard doubled to right field to score two runs and give Cotuit the 2-0 lead. Cory Wood added one more for the Kettleers in the fourth inning with an RBI single to make it 3-0. Harwich came back in the sixth inning to tie it up with three runs in the inning including an RBI single from Gabe Rivera. Both offenses went quiet for six innings until the game was decided by a tie.

Falmouth exploded with fifteen hits to score ten runs in Orleans Wednesday night while keeping the Firebirds quiet to take the victory. Kyle Stowers hit a double to score Will Brennan in the first, followed up by a two-run home run off the bat of Davis Sims. Herbert Iser drove in a run with his own double to give the Commodores a 4-0 lead. Nicholas Osborne got the Firebirds on the board with a two-run homer to cut the lead to 4-2. Falmouth captured two more in the third on a Matt Wallner homer and a sacrifice fly from Edouard Julien. Falmouth’s staff held Orleans to just one last run in the sixth inning, giving their offense the chance to score three more runs in the top of the ninth to finish off the Firebirds.
