Round 2 - Game 2 - Cotuit and Harwich Move on

Round 2 Game 2 - August 7th

Western Division
COTUIT 5, FALMOUTH 3
Falmouth jumped out in front with a three-run first inning, loading the bases after three hitters and scoring the runs with two RBI singles and a walk. From there, the Kettleers battled back with a run in the second inning and another in the fifth. Cotuit’s biggest hit came in the seventh, when MVP Nick Gonzales launched a two-run home run to dead centerfield to give the Kettleers the lead. Parker Chavers added a solo shot in the eighth and Kyle Nicolas kept the Commodores off the board in the last two innings to send Cotuit to its first championship series since 2013. Cotuit will head to Harwich on Thursday to take on the Mariners at 6:30.




Cotuit wins Western Division Playoffs and advances to the Championship Series

Eastern Division
HARWICH 5, Y-D 1
The Mariners and Red Sox were deadlocked at 1 heading into the seventh inning when the Mariners struck with four runs to take the lead. The first run came on a sacrifice fly followed by an RBI single and a two-run home run. Harwich got another excellent pitching performance from starter Jacob Palisch, who threw six innings allowing just one run on six hits while fanning six. Nick Stewart then came out of the bullpen and ended the game with three perfect innings. The win kept Harwich undefeated on the postseason and catapulted them into the championship series, where the will host Cotuit for game one at Whitehouse Field on Thursday at 6:30
