Cape League to Sponsor Five Major League Scouts Days

CAPE COD, Mass. – For the first time, the Cape Cod Baseball League will sponsor Major League Baseball scout days for each of the ten league teams this season.

The initial CCBL Scout Day takes place Saturday (July 17) before the Hyannis at Cotuit game at 5 p.m. The evaluations begin with batting practice and continue with wind sprints after each team has completed infield practice. Players from opposing teams will be paired to run 60-yard sprints.

The other four scout days include Falmouth at Wareham next Monday (July 19) at 7, Orleans at Chatham next Tuesday (July 20) at 7, Harwich at Brewster next Thursday (July 22) at 5 and Bourne at Yarmouth-Dennis next Friday (July 23) at 5.

Fans should arrive early and see the Major League Baseball scouts in action as they evaluate CCBL talent. Meet the MLB scouts, watch the jug guns and maybe even get an autograph.

The five winners of the wind sprints will be announced at the Cape League All-Star Game on July 24 at Eldredge Park in Orleans.
