Chatham’s offense had it going last night after putting up seventeen runs in a rout against the Whitecaps. The Anglers put together twelve hits on the night and took advantage of three Brewster errors. Chatham put up three runs in the first and two in the second to take a quick 5-0 lead. After a run for Brewster in the third, Chatham put up one in the fourth and five in the fifth including a two-run single from Ashton McGee. Another Chatham run was added in the sixth before Brewster put up two runs in the sixth. Another five-run inning for the Anglers in the seventh put them up by fourteen runs, easily closing the game out in seven innings.

It was Cotuit’s four-run second and three-run fifth that gave them the edge over Hyannis on Thursday night. Two runs were scored on a Garrett Wolforth double to put the Kettleers up 2-0 in the second. Jonathan Robertson singled in the next at bat that scored two more runs. Hyannis got one back in the fifth inning after Matthew Barefoot doubled to score Davis Wendzel. Cotuit answered quickly with their three-run inning which included an RBI single from Michael Toglia to go up 7-1. Hyannis snuck one more run in the seventh inning to finish the scoring for both teams.

It was a close game into the sixth inning between the Braves and Sox. Y-D put up two in the first and one in the third after an RBI single from Jonathan Deluca to go up 3-0. Bourne got themselves back in it thanks to Jared Triolo who homered in the fourth and drove in a run on a single in the fifth to make it 3-2. Y-D had a four-run sixth highlighted by a two-run single from Nick Quintana. Another run in the seventh for the Sox put them up 8-2, and the bullpen did their job to keep the Braves where they were to win the ball game.

Falmouth was able to register three two-run innings to help their winning effort at home against the Firebirds on Thursday evening. After Matt Wallner had a leadoff home run in the ball game to start the Commodores offense, he drove in the second run of the game in the second with a single. Maverick Handley followed that up with another single that scored another run to make it 3-1. Logan Wyatt had a solo shot in the second for the Firebirds. Wallner belted another home run in the fourth inning, driving in two runs to make it 5-2. The score stayed there until the seventh inning when Commodore Cameron Cannon roped a double to score two and put the game out of reach for Orleans.

Wareham’s pitching proved to be too much for Harwich on Thursday, holding the Mariners to six hits for a run. While the defense was coming together, so was the offense. Ryan Kreidler drove in one of two runs in the second inning on a single. In the fourth inning the Gatemen scored four runs on three consecutive at bats, featuring back to back RBI singles from Jeremy Ydens and Pavin Parks. The Mariners were able to cross their only run in the bottom of the fourth after Nate Eikhoff scored on a Tanner Morris putout from second base.

Cotuit came out swinging on their home turf on Friday night. They scored two right off the bat in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI single from Michael Salvatore, followed by an error to make it 2-0. The Kettleers weren’t done, putting up five runs on three hits in the second including Salvatore who added a two-run homer. Chatham would eventually score three in the third inning to warm things up for the offense. John Rave hit a two-run bomb and Colin Simpson added an RBI single to center. Two in the fourth and one in the fifth brought the score to 9-6. The Anglers went on to score two runs in the seventh on a Blake Sabol two RBI double and two more in the eighth on a Spencer Torkelson home run and an RBI single from Jorge Arenas.

Brewster exploded for four runs in the third inning to take the 4-0 lead going into the fourth. Hunter Bishop drove in a run with a single and Ray Alejo drove in two with a double in the third. The fourth featured an RBI single from Dominic Canzone and a two-run shot from Jesse Franklin to make it 7-0. The Whitecap staff did an outstanding job holding a hot Y-D team to a minimum. All three unearned runs that Brewster allowed came in the eighth inning. Y-D could only grind out three hits in the game while the Whitecaps had fourteen knocks.

It was a close game entering the later innings, but Hyannis was able to scrap runs together to insure their victory over the Firebirds. Hyannis scored first in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from Matthew Barefoot. Orleans quickly responded with a leadoff home run in the fourth from Nicholas Osborne. The Hawks got it right back in the fifth on a Seth Gray single that scored Taylor Garris. The offenses went quiet for a couple of innings in a 2-1 ball game, but it was interrupted by a two-run eighth inning from Hyannis on a Tommy Jew sacrifice fly followed up by an RBI single from Pedro Pages, allowing Brett Schulze to finish off the Firebirds in the ninth.

It was a quiet game in Harwich that included just two extra base hits between both teams, both coming for the Commodores. Scoring didn’t start until the fifth inning when Mariner Danny Casals hit into a fielder’s choice which ended up scoring two after an error. Harwich scored again in the eighth on an Andre Lipcius single to right field that drove in two runs to take a 4-0 lead heading into the ninth. Falmouth fought for a run on a Steven Williams RBI single to put the Commodores on the board, but the rally ran dry.

Wareham’s big third inning was a game changer in this matchup. The six run inning was started with an RBI single from Isaac Collins. The Gatemen then had four consecutive at bats that scored at least a run, starting with Austin Shenton’s two-run single. Jeremy Ydens then doubled to bring in a run, followed by a Jakob Goldfarb groundout to score one. Jeremy Ydens ended up scoring on a wild pitch to score and make it 6-0. Bourne got one of those runs back in the fourth. Wareham scored one in the fifth and sixth which came in handy when the Braves fought back with five in the seventh inning. David Langer drove in a run on a single, and two scored on an error. Following the error, Jared Triolo doubled to score two runs and make it 8-6. The Gatemen responded well, holding the Braves to no more in the last two innings to seal it.
