SEASIDE LE MANS ANNOUNCES 2020 RACE BENEFICIARIES

(SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA – February 4, 2020) – Five Cape Cod non-profit organizations were announced on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 as this year’s beneficiaries for the 20th Annual Seaside Le Mans – The Race for the Cape Cod Community.

The annual fundraiser scheduled for Saturday September 12, 2020 at Mashpee Commons has raised more than $7 million through sponsorships and matching funds over the past 19 years.

Sponsors, beneficiaries and supporters attended the kickoff event at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth. The following beneficiaries were announced, each with a designated focus for the anticipated $600,000+ in funds that will be raised this year:

Cape Cod Healthcare – Hospice Services

Cape Cod Military Support Foundation – Enhanced Services for Military Families

Cape Cod Baseball League – Youth Clinic Scholarships

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History – Youth Education Programs

Cape Kid Meals – Expanded Weekend Hunger Relief Program

The Seaside Le Mans, presented and underwritten by The Davenport Companies, features teams of sponsors driving Formula One karts during a four-hour endurance race on an outdoor track to determine the winner.

The Davenport Companies, which covers all event related costs, works with X1 Boston to organize and manage the race. All race donations and sponsorships are sent to The Cape Cod Foundation, which distributes the funds to the designated beneficiaries.

The event is free to spectators and features food, music and entertainment for the whole family.

“As Seaside Le Mans heads into its 20th year, the event is stronger than ever. The impact of more than $7 million donated to so many local organizations over the past two decades has been real and measurable,” said DeWitt Davenport, CEO of The Davenport Companies and founder of the Seaside Le Mans – The Race for the Cape Cod Community.

“We enter our 20th year with a new level of excitement about the five groups receiving funding this year. Once again, Cape Cod residents will benefit from the amazing generosity of our driving teams and sponsors,” he said.

Corporate and individual driving sponsorships range from $2,000 - $10,000 and provide the opportunity to participate in the endurance race, a practice session several weeks prior to the race, the sponsor dinner, team gifts and marketing and promotional benefits.

All equipment is included, no racing experience is required and all sponsorships are tax-deductible. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Companies or individuals interested in becoming sponsors/kart drivers are encouraged to contact Kelsey Ellis, Event Director at 508-394-8800 ext. 142 as soon as possible since the field will be limited to 20 teams.
