Commissioners Corner: 2012 End of Season Report08/19/2012 8:25 PM Article By: Paul Galop Congratulations to the Wareham Gatemen who captured the coveted Arnold Mycock Trophy signifying champions of the 2012 CCBL playoffs in what was clearly the most exciting playoff finals, perhaps ever! The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox were formidable and gracious opponents who gave the red-hot Gatemen all they could handle in the championship series that went the full three games, the final game going extra innings. Our fans were treated to playoffs that included the Bourne Braves, Chatham Anglers, Cotuit Kettleers, Falmouth Commodores, Harwich Mariners, Orleans Firebirds, Wareham Gatemen and Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, all of whom contributed to intensity of play and competitive fire that exceeded everyone’s expectations. What a playoff year! The Wareham Gatemen were also presented with the Commissioner’s Cup prior to the playoffs for the second consecutive year. This award recognizes professional behavior and integrity on and off the field by the entire Wareham organization. This is the major reason why our playoffs are so unpredictable and competitive. The balance of power among our ten teams is unusually even, thus increasing the competition. Special thanks should go out to so many folks who made our 2012 season so successful and enjoyable. Some of those people and groups include but are not limited to:
