Baseball America Names Cape Leagues Top 30: Manaea, Moran and Ervin Top List08/23/2012 6:47 PM Article By: CCBL Public Relations Office Hard-throwing southpaw hurler Sean Manaea (Indiana St.), selected Top Pitcher and Outstanding Pro Prospect in the Cape Cod Baseball League, was also the top player named in the Baseball America Top 30 prospects. Compiled by executive editor Jim Callis, Baseball America is a magazine which covers baseball at every level, with a particular focus on amateur and minor league ballplayers. It produces lists of top prospects and covers aspects of the game from a player-development point of view. The publication's motto is "Baseball news you can't find anywhere else." Colin Moran (North Carolina) of Bourne, who led the CCBL with 42 RBI, finished second behind Manaea in the BA Top 30, while league MVP Phil Ervin (Samford) of Harwich, who hit .323 with 11 homers and 31 RBI finished third.
Fellow Mariners’ outfielder Austin Wilson (Stanford) and Cotuit southpaw Kevin Ziomek (Vanderbilt) round out the top five prospects.
