Braves 7, Gatemen 1: Bourne beat Wareham in Game 1 of the best-of-three West Division semifinals on Monday. Game 2 will be at Wareham's Clem Spillane Field at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Braves starter Cody Sedlock (Illinois) made his 12th appearance and did so in impressive fashion. A 1-2-3 first inning Monday got Sedlock off to the right start before getting his first strikeout in the top of the second. Sedlock threw 98 pitches, struck out five and consistently reached 93-94 mph on the radar gun, becoming the first Braves pitcher to go seven innings this season.

Mike Garzillo (Lehigh) and Corey Julks  (Houston) each drove in a run while Reid Humphreys (Mississippi St.) added a two-run single in a five-run second inning for Bourne. Peter Alonso (Florida) finished 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a walk and CJ Chatham (Florida Atlantic) went 3-for-4 and picked a good time to produce his second triple of the summer.

Taking the loss for the Gatemen was Shaun Anderson (Florida), who departed after 1 2/3 innings. Struggling to find arms in the bullpen, Wareham put trust in Kyle Gauthier (Hartford), who tossed four solid innings in his first Cape League appearance. He allowed just two hits and struck out four.

The Gatemen struggled at the plate, combining for just just six hits. David MacKinnon (Hartford) drove in Kramer Robertson (LSU) in the top of the fourth to give Wareham its only run of the night. Robertson finished 2-for-4 while Nick Cieri (Maryland) went 1-for-2 with two walks.

Harbor Hawks 10, Kettleers 3: Hyannis took an early lead and never looked back to seal a Game 1 victory over Cotuit on Monday in their West Division best-of-three series. Former Team Cape Cod standout Bobby Melley (UConn) scored a run for the Harbor Hawks and starter Dakota Hudson (Mississippi State) pitched a stellar game.
