Cape League Cancels 2020 Season Due to COVID-19

Cape Cod, MA – April 24, 2020:
The Cape Cod Baseball League Executive Committee has voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 Cape Cod Baseball League season.  The decision was based on the health concerns and safety needs of all involved. Following CDC guidelines and medical recommendations, the league determined it would be impossible to guarantee the safety of players, coaches, umpires, host families, volunteers and fans during this unprecedented health crisis.

We would like to thank all our dedicated volunteers and sponsors for their support and look forward to playing again in 2021.  Thank you for your continued support and stay safe and healthy.

About Cape Cod Baseball League
The Cape Cod Baseball League is the premier collegiate summer baseball league in the nation founded in 1885.  The Cape Cod Baseball League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Players from across the United States representing all NCAA college divisions are recruited to play in the 10-team league.  Teams are located in Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Cotuit, Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis, Orleans, Wareham and Yarmouth-Dennis.  One in every six Major League Baseball players has played in the Cape Cod Baseball League.  There are annually 300 Cape Cod Baseball League Alumni playing in the major leagues and more than 1,250 all-time.  The league operates primarily with volunteers and has since its’ inception which is another unique and appealing quality that is the Cape Cod Baseball League.  For more information, follow www.capecodbaseball.org.
