Welcome to our Volunteers, Fans and Supporters,
As you have heard, Cape Cod Baseball League Executive Committee voted unanimously on April 24, 2020 to cancel the 2020 season. This decision was debated over several weeks with great passion. Since that time many of the Northeast Summer league have followed suit.
So you may ask, “What does the league do the rest of the year?” We continue to have our meetings and discuss what next year will bring for the league.
A positive note is the change in the MLB draft for this year and next. With the number of rounds limited to five or ten , the number of athletes choosing college instead of pro ball could rise. If this should happen, we could have even more talent available. This could also increase more multiple season players. This could repeat in 2022 as well.
Another event that has happened is the start of the Cape League Podcast, check them out on our website. There will be many more episodes to come throughout the summer. We continue to have great stories of past seasons to keep everyone thinking of the league.
At this time we are planning our Hall of Fame induction ceremony in November. Stay tuned for our announcement of who will be inducted.
The league and the ten individual franchises continue to work hard to make the 2021 season best ever. We can hardly wait.
Please stay healthy and safe and we hope to see you in 2021
