It is with a very heavy heart that I write this note on the passing of Phil Edward's.
The Cape League is devastated by this loss as there was no one more loved and respected by everyone than Phil. In honor of Phil we will have a moment of silence at the games Thursday and Friday and the following will be read at each game:

This is a very sad time for the Cape League as we have lost a dear friend, league officer and an extraordinary individual. Thursday morning Phil Edwards passed away at his home in Harwich, surrounded by his family.

Phil was vice president of the league for 7 years and served as General Manager for the Brewster Whitecaps for several years. His years of service to the Whitecaps were highlighted with their first Cape League championship in 2000.

Phil was the quintessential volunteer, whose quiet humble way epitomized what Cape League volunteers are all about. He was chair of the annual All Star Game, long- time member of the Hall of Fame committee and provided leadership and direction to the league's safety and by-law committees.

Our hearts are very heavy tonight. We will miss our dear friend, Phil. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donna and his devoted family.

Please take a moment of silence in memory and in honor of Phil Edwards
