Next Saturday, July 11, the Wareham Gatemen will put on their warmup jerseys slightly earlier than normal to celebrate Wareham Gatemen Day at the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks No. 73.

The lodge is located at 2855 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham, and doors will be open to the public at 10 a.m. for this event, which will last until 2 p.m. The first 100 children through the door will receive a free T-shirt compliments of Gateway Graphics.

Be sure to bring a pen and a glove, hat or a ball for Wareham players to sign. Hot dogs, hamburgers, peanuts and soda will be served, and Gatemen merchandise will be available for purchase. But it doesn’t end there. Children present at Wareham Gatemen Day will be presented with printed "tickets" to that evening’s ballgame, slated for 7 p.m. against the Cotuit Kettleers at Clem Spillane Field.
