Wednesday, June 20th CCBL Wrap Up

Chatham (5-3-1) at Brewster (2-5-1)

It was all Anglers in Brewster on Wednesday evening, beating the Whitecaps on the road 7-0. Chatham collectively threw a three-hit shutout, and added twelve hits of their own to cruise to an easy victory. Spencer Torkelson and John Rave both had two RBI each. The pitching was outstanding, striking out thirteen Whitecaps.  Chatham plays tonight at 7:00 PM at home, and will throw Cody Bradford against the Harbor Hawks. Brewster will travel to Orleans, and gives James Acuna the nod for a 7:00 PM start.

Orleans (2-6) at Cotuit (6-3)

Orleans had a meltdown when Cotuit scored five runs in the seventh inning to hand the Kettleers the win at 5-4. Cotuit put together five hits in the seventh, and it was all started with a single, double, then a two-run single by Matt McCourt. Orleans seemed to be in control, scoring four runs in the first four innings. But, Cotuit’s bullpen was able to slam the door and give their offense exactly what they needed. Orleans hosts Brewster, and has Kenyon Yovan (0-1) on the bump at 7:00 PM. Cotuit is on the road to play Yarmouth-Dennis and will pitch Griffin McLarty.  First pitch will be at 5:00 PM.

Harwich (5-4) at Bourne (5-4)

Harwich was able to get two in the second and one in the eighth, but Bourne was able to get four early on, including a two-run blast by Spencer Brickhouse in the third, and take home the win 4-3. The Mariners’ Zach Watson added two hits and an RBI, continuing his hot start to the season. The Mariners will start Jake Agnos when they host Falmouth at 6:30 PM. Bourne hosts the Gatemen, with Justin Lasko on the hill for a 6:00 PM start.

Yarmouth-Dennis (3-4-2) at Falmouth (2-6)

The only run of the game came in the top of the first when the Red Sox Quin Cotton hit a two-out double, and was driven in by a second double by Andrew Daschbach. Although Falmouth collected seven hits, Y-D struck out twelve Commodores to shut them out and win 1-0. Yarmouth-Dennis plays Cotuit at home and hands the ball to Karl Kauffmann for a 5:00 PM start. Falmouth will travel to Harwich and has Mitchell Stone ready to pitch for the Commodores at 6:30 PM.

Hyannis (4-4) at Wareham (7-2)

A four-run first inning for the Gatemen would have been enough to beat the Hawks thanks to a dominant night by their pitching, but they decided to add five more insurance runs, beating the Hawks 9-0. Jeremy Ydens and Ryan Kreidler both were able to pick up three RBI a piece last night. Connor Lunn started for the Gatemen, and had a stellar outing, striking out eight. Hyannis will pitch Houston Roth when they travel to Chatham for a 7:00 PM start. Wareham will play in Bourne at 6:00 PM and gives Mason Feole the nod.
