Cape Cod Baseball League 6/25 Recap
Monday night featured two games. Harwich travelled to Hyannis to take on the Harbor Hawks, and Orleans hosted the Whitecaps of Brewster.
Harwich (7-6-1) at Hyannis (8-4-1)
Despite out-hitting Hyannis seven to five, Harwich could not score a run, resulting in a loss to the Hawks 2-0. The game was at a deadlock until the fourth inning when Hyannis’ Davis Wendzel roped a one-out triple. After a groundout for the second out, Trevor Hauver drove Wendzel in with a single to center field. Harwich would later give up a run in the eighth after committing an error, giving the Hawks an extra run for cushion.

Brewster (3-10-1) at Orleans (5-8)
It was all Orleans in this contest, putting together two two-run innings in the fifth and eighth and holding Brewster to just five hits to complete the victory 5-0. The Firebirds pitched four different arms, and they all impressed, striking out nine as a staff and not walking one Whitecap. Pitching is what gave the offense time to score in the mid to late innings to sail to an easy win at home.
