2020 – a sour year that we are all looking forward to putting in the rearview mirror.  How do you complete an End of Season Recap, when the season didn’t happen?  For the first time since World War II, The Cape League Executive Committee made the hard decision to cancel a season for the safety of our communities due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.  They met multiple times this past spring and concluded that the best option was to wait until next year.  Thanks to all that were involved in the hard discussions that led to the correct conclusion for this season.

I would also like to acknowledge the many people that worked hard to try to make a season even happen – our GMs, field managers, coaching staffs, and the multitude of team board members, volunteers, supporters, and Sponsors.  Thanks very much to the many dedicated and caring folks that the league is blessed with each year.  We missed them terribly by not being able to go to the ballparks each day this summer.  Now, we are looking ahead and planning for a great comeback in 2021.  Rosters are being compiled, GMs and Managers are discussing who’s on first, and what’s on second, and we hope that more and more good news and guidance will come from our local, state, and federal officials regarding what we can see and expect for our organizations, players, and fans next summer.

In the meantime, continue to stay updated with us on our various social media outlets, and by visiting CapeCodBaseball.org.  One more ‘thanks’ to all of our devoted fans – we hope that you’ll come see us next summer, set up a chair on the hill of your favorite Cape League ballpark, sit back, and enjoy a few innings of the best collegiate baseball in the country.  For now, take care and stay healthy.

We can’t wait to hear ‘Play Ball’ in 2021!
