     After a wild opening weekend in college baseball, we continue our college hitter draft preview with two more hitters that had plenty of action of this week. These next two hitters also look to continue to raise their stock to hear their names called as early as possible in July at the 2022 MLB Draft. Let’s get right into it.

Brooks Lee – SS / Cal Poly / Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox

     According to MLB.com, Lee is ranked as the number 1 college prospect for the 2022 MLB Draft. Just as highly ranked, both D1baseball.com and Perfect Game have Brooks listed as the number 2 college prospect and for good reason. 2020 was a tough year for Lee as he only appeared in two games after recovering from hamstring surgery in the offseason. However, 2021 did not disappoint for Lee. Brooks hit .342 across 54 games with 57 RBIs and 10 HR which were all team bests for Cal Poly.

     Lee is a solid shortstop who has a great feel for the game, can hit from both sides but is a great hitter specifically from the left side. Prospects Live has Brooks going to the Colorado Rockies with the 10th overall selection. With Trevor Story seemingly on his way out of Colorado, Lee would be a great replacement for the long term in Denver. His bat skills play at a high level and his plus defense is something that will play well in Colorado in a few years.

Brock Wilken – INF / Wake Forest / Harwich Mariners

     Brock Wilken had a tremendous opening weekend going 5 for 10 on opening weekend with a HR, 5 RBI and 5 walks. Wilken has plus power without a doubt and playing at Wake Forest will surely help surge those numbers moving forward. The former Harwich Mariner appeared in 36 games in the Cape and hit 6 HR with 26 RBI and 26 walks.

     Wilken has tremendous plate discipline as well as power which is something that any team would be lucky to have on their team. If Wilken can improve his defense this year moving forward, I believe that he can move his way up into the mid to late first round of the MLB draft this year.
