Cape League and Blast Motion Enhance Partnership to Improve Scouting Opportunities Cape Cod, MA - April 6, 2022. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) has enhanced their partnership with Blast Motion, the leader in swing analysis, player development and improvement, to deliver metrics powered scouting analysis for years to come. The Blast Baseball sensor is used in-game during the season and the Cape League All-Star Game to capture player’s swing metrics. The Blast metrics give players a professional-level view of their swing performance and improve their scouting opportunities. This information is available to the players, coaches, and professional scouts who attend CCBL games. Additionally, the sensors will be used during the CCBL Home Run Hitting Contest, an annual event that has been filled with star power since its inception in 1988, when future MLB Hall of Famer Frank Thomas won it. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with Blast Motion,” said CCBL Commissioner, Eric Zmuda. “Their technology has helped our coaching staffs analyze each player’s swing movement, and, in my opinion, shown new ways to help augment and improve their path in practice, as well as real-game situations.” Blast Motion and the Cape League have been partners since 2017, capturing the swings of future No. 1 Overall MLB Draft picks Adley Rutschman, Spencer Torkelson and Henry Davis. Their vital technology and data have helped maintain the league’s standing as the top collegiate summer league in the country. “Our technology, software applications and player insights are the standard at this level of play,” said Blast Motion VP of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Mike Woods. “With the Cape’s long-standing history of developing baseball players for the next level, the Blast Motion team is thrilled to extend our long-lasting partnership with the CCBL.” The Blast sensor and mobile app will continue to provide the CCBL with the industry’s most accurate swing data. The Blast app has been specially designed to combine video with metrics, to enhance swing analysis, allowing coaches to easily replay and review a player’s swing mechanics.
