PLAYER: Chris Marconcini – Orleans – OF

Chris Marconcini (Duke) made quite the impression on the Cape League fields this past week and became the Firebirds' second Coca-Cola Player of the Week in as many weeks.

Marconcini has been on fire, as Friday's performance in a 17-12 slugfest victory over Y-D would attest. He homered and drove in six RBIs on three hits in that game.

His hot hitting continued Sunday, when he led Orleans to a 6-5 victory over Chatham thanks to his double in the sixth and a homer in the ninth. He currently leads the league with a .375 batting average.

A native of Brentwood, Tenn., Marconcini is a senior at Duke. After redshirting the 2012 season with an injury, he came back strong this season, with a .284 slugging percentage and leading the Blue Devils with eight homers.
