Cape League Launches Bring Back The Hall Campaign04/19/2023 2:03 PM Article By: CCBL Public Relations Office Cape Cod Baseball League Launches “Bring Back the Hall” Campaign Cape Cod, MA – The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) is announcing the launch of the “Bring Back the Hall” campaign. The campaign’s plan is to raise $1 million for the opening of our CCBL Hall of Fame building in 2023. The CCBL has received significant financial contributions to kick-start the campaign in its early stages. The league has secured a building on Route 28 in South Yarmouth to be the new home of the CCBL Hall of Fame. The building will allow fans to have an engaging experience with all of the league’s history. The CCBL Hall of Fame Committee was formed in 2000 and has inducted members annually. Currently, there are 179 inducted members in the CCBL Hall of Fame, with the most recent Class of 2022 being highlighted by current Chicago Cubs Marcus Stroman and Ian Happ. Other inductees over the years have included: Frank Thomas, Thurman Munson, Jeff Bagwell, and Nomar Garciaparra. The “Bring Back the Hall” campaign is being co-chaired by Peter Gammons and Ron Darling, two close friends of the league. “When asked, I always say the same thing about my summer on the Cape in 1980. It was the greatest summer I ever spent playing baseball,” said Ron Darling. “The Cape League has always blended the greatest amateur competition with the innocence and romance of the game. Please help us keep this beautiful part of Americana thriving.” The Hall of Fame building will be a year-round destination for both Cape Cod residents and visitors. The league’s current impact on the Cape Cod economy exceeds $3 million annually, according to the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. This campaign and investment into the future of the CCBL Hall of Fame will significantly boost that impact year-round.
