Orleans Firebirds defeats the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (Orleans Leads Series 1-0)

Orleans got an early start in the second inning with an RBI single by Henry Hunter, which sent Evan Truitt home.

The YD-Red Sox were on fire at the plate, with home runs from Brady Day in the top of the third, Zander Darby in the bottom of the fourth, and Hunter Hines in bottom of the sixth.

Jason Doktorczyk had quite an outing on the mound for YD, retiring nine straight hitters between the fourth and sixth innings.

Fenwick Trimble emerged from the Firebirds dugout and shifted the momentum of the game completely, hitting a grand slam in the top of the eighth bringing Orleans back. Matt Halbach added another run on an infield single, and that was all the offense the Firebirds needed.

The final score of Game One in the east being 8-4 Orleans.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks defeats the Bourne Braves (Haynnis Leads Series 1-0)

Game One of the West Division Finals started off in Hyannis’ favor, getting a run on the board early in the second inning.

However in the top of the third, the Bourne Braves answered with two home runs from Josh Kuroda-Grauer and Pete Ciuffreda. In the top of the fourth, Garrett Michel also joined in on the home run hitting, sending a shot into left center.

Brandon Eike helped bring the Harbor Hawks back, tying the game in the bottom of the fifth. Trey Lipsey then launched Hyannis ahead of Bourne with a two-run home run. From there, there was no stopping them.

Closing out on the mound for the Harbor Hawks, Dennis Colleran only allowed 2 hits and held the Braves scoreless over the final two innings. The final score was 9-6 Hyannis.
