Cape Cod Baseball League joins
FREE TEAMLINE service for 2003 season

Fans and parents can listen to every Cape League game LIVE this season

KENT, OHIO – TRZ Sports and the FREE TEAMLINE service is proud to announce that ALL TEN TEAMS of the Cape Cod Baseball League, the nation’s premier summer baseball league, have joined the FREE TEAMLINE service for the 2003 season.

All 220 Cape League regular season games, the All-Star Game and playoff games will be broadcast free through Teamline. The live play-by-play of ANY Cape Cod Baseball League game (for FREE) will be available by visiting your favorite home team’s web page for Internet listening instructions. Listeners will have the option to listen via Telephone when listening via Internet isn’t practical, such as fans attending games.

The Cape Cod League teams are unique in that none of them have an existing Radio Broadcast! Each team has employed the help of volunteer broadcasters to serve as their voices on FREE TEAMLINE. Each team’s broadcasters will provide the LIVE play-by-play directly from their home to the TEAMLINE system in Ohio. FREE TEAMLINE will distribute that broadcast to listeners worldwide via Internet & Telephone!

Last season, the Brewster Whitecaps, Hyannis Mets and Wareham Gatemen broadcast all their regular season games through Teamline, while the Cotuit Kettleers and the Gatemen broadcast their playoff games. The CCBL All-Star game was simulcast on WXTK (95.1 FM) and Teamline and also televised on Fox SportsNet New England.

“The opportunity to provide the entire Cape Cod Baseball League to listeners and fans was an extremely important project for TRZ” says Tom Zawistowski, TRZ’s CEO and Founder. “The success of the teams that participated last year was beyond our expectations, and the hard work of the Cape League’s staff and Executive Board has expanded our involvement with the league. We expect this season’s listeners to break TEAMLINE records for summertime usage”.

Listeners will also have the option to access every Cape League game directly from the Cape Cod League web page. Simply scroll to the bottom of the home page and click the TEAMLINE “Click to Listen” logo. You can then choose your favorite team from the pull down menu to listen online. Visit www.capecodbaseball.org to access the game broadcasts. (Listeners are encouraged to listen Online FIRST and use the telephone as a backup in case of emergency).

“One of our major goals was to have every Cape League game broadcast so our constituency would be able to follow all the action,” said John Garner, CCBL Director of Public Relations & Broadcasting. “We’re very excited about the relationship with TRZ Sports.”

In addition to the Cape Cod League’s regular season games, fans and listeners will be able to listen to the 2003 Cape League All-Star game, Saturday, July 26 at 6 p.m., from Guv Fuller Field in Falmouth. All post-season games, and the CCBL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be broadcast LIVE via FREE TEAMLINE November 8, 2003 from the Chatham Bars Inn..

“Such comprehensive coverage of the Cape Cod Baseball League has never been available in the 118 years of baseball on the Cape,” says Michael Wilt, Marketing Director for TRZ. “It is an honor to be associated with such a prestigious baseball organization. We hope to continue our relationship for many years to come”.

The 2003 Cape Cod League Broadcast season will begin Sunday, June 8th with pre-season action when the 2002 CCBL Champion Wareham Gatemen take on the Torrington Twisters of the New England Collegiate League. Regular season action for all 10 teams begins June 13.
