Pitching Ninja Pitcher of the Week - Week One Matthew Wilkinson - Photo: Michael Hayeck; Graphic: Charly Luther Matthew Wilkinson of the Chatham Anglers was named the Pitching Ninja Pitcher of the Week for the first week of the Cape League season. Wilkinson (Central Arizona College) made one appearance for the Anglers, throwing five perfect innings of relief in Chatham’s 2-0 victory over Orleans. The Chatham southpaw struck out eight of the fifteen batters he faced, picking up the win in the outing while allowing just one hitter to get a ball out of the infield. Wilkinson becomes the first Cape League pitcher to throw at least five perfect innings in their league debut since Brody McCullough (Wingate/Hyannis) on Opening Day 2022. |
