For more than a decade, Cape Cod 5 has been a key supporter of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Cape Cod 5 has contributed over one million dollars annually in each of the last eight years to organizations making a difference in our region. Their support of the Cape League goes beyond the league level, as they also support all ten franchises at the team level. Cape Cod 5’s President Bert Talerman is proud that the company is a part of an important summertime tradition on Cape Cod which fits well in their mission as a community bank. Their support enables the Cape League and its ten teams to continue providing fans the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate summer baseball experience at no cost.

Fred Ebbett Lifetime Achievement Award

Bill Bussiere served in numerous roles within the Cape League for over three decades, at both the league and franchise level. During Bussiere’s eight years as Director of Corporate Development, he raised over four million dollars to pay for field improvements, safety netting, transportation, and trainer support. He entered his role under demanding circumstances, but navigated through financial challenges, including those caused by COVID, to leave the league in an increasingly stable financial condition. Other roles Bill served within the league included Senior Vice President, Vice President, Deputy Commissioner, chair of the CCBL All-Star Game Committee, and webmaster. He also served as both President and General Manager for the Hyannis Mets and Harbor Hawks franchise. Bussiere was named the General Manager of the Year in 2011.
